What “a website that books” actually means: the checklist I build to

A “Book now” button is the easy part. Here’s the whole checklist I build every site to, from booking on a phone to who owns the domain.

A brochure website looks good, lists your services, and then asks people to call during business hours or send a DM and wait. It tells a new client about you. It doesn’t let them do anything.

When I say “a website that books”, I mean something specific: a new client can go from “who is this?” to “I’m booked” on their phone, without talking to anyone. Here’s the checklist I build every site to.

The checklist

  • A “Book now” button on every page
  • A booking page that works on a phone
  • Services listed with how long they take and what they cost
  • A confirmation right after booking, and a reminder before the visit
  • Your Google Business Profile linked, with the same name, address, phone and hours as your site
  • Every client in one list, not in a notebook
  • Your domain and your content stay yours

Booking is the whole point

“Book now” on every page. People don’t always land on your home page. They arrive on a service page from Google, or on your about page from Instagram. Wherever they are, booking should be one tap away.

A booking page that works on a phone. Your clients book from wherever they are: on the bus, on a break, at 10 pm. If booking means pinching, zooming or typing the same thing twice, some of them will stop halfway.

Services with durations and prices. Someone booking a colour wants to know whether it takes one hour or three, and what it costs, before they block out the afternoon. If you take a deposit or charge for late cancellations, say so before they book, not after.

A confirmation and a reminder. The confirmation tells them it worked. The reminder means the appointment isn’t living only in their memory. Both go out by text and email, and every text names your business and carries the STOP line.

The parts that live outside your website

Your Google Business Profile. People often find you on Google Maps before they see your site, so the two need to agree. The profile should link to your booking page, and your name, address, phone number and hours should match exactly. When they don’t, clients have to guess which one is right. I claim and clean up the profile as part of launch.

Your client list in one place. Every booking, every client and every message lands in one list. At launch I import the clients you already have, so nothing lives in a notebook on the side.

What you own, and what I don’t do

You own your brand, your content, your domain and your client list, and I’ll export any of it to you whenever you ask. The site and the automations run on our infrastructure and are licensed to you while you’re a client. If you cancel, you get a full export of your client list plus a static copy of your site.

What I don’t do: ads. I’m not an ad agency, and if someone already runs your ads, keep them. I don’t promise rankings either. My job is making sure that when someone finds you, they can book.

What it costs, when it goes live, what you keep

What it costs
$299 CAD a month, $0 setup. Month-to-month; cancel with 30 days’ notice. Includes 2,000 text segments and 500 voice minutes a month; beyond that, $0.06 per segment and $0.35 per minute.
Before you pay
A free demo site with your name and your services, ready within 48 hours of a 15-minute call. No card.
When it goes live
Site, online booking and client list in the first week. Texts once carriers approve your business number, usually 1–2 weeks.
What you keep
Your brand, content, domain and client list, exported any time you ask.
If you leave
Your site and booking link move to Site Keep-Alive ($39/mo, no texts or automations) unless you tell us not to. We email you 7 days before the first charge, and you can switch it off any time.

If you want to see this checklist applied to your business, I’ll build you a free demo site: your name, your services, online booking, within 48 hours of a 15-minute call. Like it, we launch it. Don’t, and you owe nothing.
